Henry Gerber - Founder of the Society for Human Rights, the first gay rights organization in the United States.
Marsha P. Johnson - A Black Transgender Woman and LGBTQ+ Rights Activist. Very known for her instigation in the Stonewall Riots and Pride Parades.
Mattachine Society - An early Gay Rights Organization in the United States created by Harry Hay in Los Angeles to protect and improve the rights of gay men.
Stonewall Riots - New York City Stonewall Inn, large LGBTQ+ Protests in response to a police raid in 1969.
New York City's First Pride Parade - This was held in June 1970, one year after the Sonewall Riot uprising.
